The Big Move is a  single-player inventory-based game. Play as a young adult flying the nest and collect all your funiture into the moving van to begin your big move out of your parents’ home. Choose your brand new apartment and get unpacking!

ABOUT MY WORK


The focus of this project was to build an understanding of and implement persistent data within multiple scenes of a game.  This game, therefore, surrounds the inventory system mechanics within the gameplay.

The player must select and collect all of their furniture from the base scene, which will be held in the moving van (inventory) and carried to the next scene. The player can load and unload any furniture freely. There is also the option of saving/loading the game  to pick up/put down this virtual experience at your leisure.

Once all the furniture from the base home has been collected, the player has the opportunity to choose from one of three new homes (scenes) to carry their furniture over to for unloading in the new environment.  Once all of the furniture has been unloaded into the player’s new home, the end of the game will be triggered by the appearance of the phone which will present a notification alert. The player can then freely choose when to end the game by interacting with the phone and their mother’s phone call.
